Moroccan Haitham El-Zaghouti wins bronze in the sub-73kg weight category at the World Taekwondo Championships

Moroccan Haitham El-Zaghouti won the bronze medal in the under-73kg weight during the World Taekwondo Championships for young men, which will be held in the Bulgarian capital Sofia from August 1-9.

Zaghouti won the bronze medal after her quarterfinal victory against Mexican Lara Clement by two rounds to one, before stumbling in the semifinals against Iranian Kahor Riza with two rounds to zero.

Zaghouti, world runner-up in the last school world championship held in France, advanced in the first round to his Polish rival Sokolowski Mikolog by beating him by two rounds to nil, and then won in the second round with the same result over American Shan Aidan. It should be noted that this world championship had the participation of more than 800 male and female players representing 128 countries.
