The National Office of the Moroccan Union for Higher Education and Scientific Research called on the government of Aziz Akhannouch to speed up the defusing of tension and social tension, in order to spare university institutions what the union described as “a situation of explosion and paralysis”.
This is the position expressed by the National Labor Union of Morocco, after the announcement of its absolute rejection of the draft decree of the status of research professors, in its form, of which it received a copy from Abdellatif El-Mirawi, Minister of Higher Education Education, Scientific Research and Innovation.
The National Labor Union of Morocco considered that this law constitutes a dangerous setback and a systematic destruction of the conquests.
The union itself called on the Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation to rectify the matter before it is too late, and issue a new version of the draft decree, which responds to the basic demands of researchers and accommodates to its proposals, the most important of which is to improve its financial situation, and to empower the Moroccan Union for Higher Education and Scientific Research with a copy of it before the next academic year.
The union itself revealed the emergence and accumulation of a set of data and indicators that testify to the negative interaction of the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation with its national demand file.
The Union said that the status of the Higher Education Research Professors Authority, in its current form, which it received from Minister Al-Mirawi, is, as it described it, “a natural result of the approach of ambiguity, improvisation, confusion and opacity . that afflicts the management of the higher education and scientific research system”.
The National Office of the Moroccan Union for Higher Education and Scientific Research, in a statement that reached “Hoy 24”, with a copy of it, warned of the critical situation that Moroccan society is facing in a context characterized by a obscene rise in the cost of living with an unprecedentedly high cost of living that exacerbated the dangerous decline in the social status of research professors as well as all groups in society.
