Morocco opens the door to Russia to export animal products

The economic relationship between Morocco and Russia has not been affected by the political consequences of the Russian war in Ukraine, given that both countries continue to close new contracts and agreements that open the door to Russia’s entry into new Moroccan markets.

In the same context, the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision is heading towards the supply of certain categories of Russian livestock products to Morocco, after an agreement that grouped them with “UNSA”.

The Federal Service said in a statement released by the Russian agency “Sputnik” that “the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision and the National Directorate for Sanitary Food Safety of the Kingdom of Morocco have agreed on veterinary certificates for exports from Russia to Morocco. : pig intestinal raw materials and bovine, ovine and caprine raw materials and edible fats and oils.

The service added that it had obtained the right to supply natural, unprocessed food of plant origin, intended for animal feed.

The commercial representative of the Russian Federation in Morocco came out last March to confirm that the Moroccan-Russian commercial exchange increased by 42% at the end of 2021 to 1,600 million dollars, a percentage that maintains Morocco as “the most important in Russia. in Africa.”

The Russian spokesman was optimistic about the appearance of new Russian products on Moroccan markets as part of its exports to Morocco in 2021, namely petroleum gases and gaseous fuels, internal combustion engines, cosmetics and equipment for the preparation of tobacco. , and household electrical and mechanical machines. He also announced an expected increase in Russian-Moroccan joint projects in 2022. He expected an increase in Russian small and medium-sized companies in the Moroccan market.

In the same context, the Coordination Council of Russian organizations and citizens in Morocco, and the Russian commercial representation in Morocco, invited Russian citizens to seek tourism in Morocco instead of Europe, so that it would become the main destination of those who want to travel. out of the country soon, citing Moroccan diplomatic sources, Royal Air Maroc is ready to launch a third weekly air route to Moscow, and another airline is ready to launch a direct air route linking Russia with the cities of Essaouira and Agadir.
