The government studies raising the minimum wage by 10 percent this week

Next Thursday the Governing Council is expected to approve a draft decree establishing the legal minimum wage in industry, commerce, liberal professions and agriculture.

This decree is part of the discharge of the results of the social agreement signed on April 30 between the government of Aziz Akhannouch and the union centrals and the General Confederation of Moroccan Companies.

The agreement provides for an increase in the minimum wage in industry, commerce, liberal professions and agriculture by 10 percent, spread between 5 percent in September 2022 and 5 percent in September 2023.

The agreement also stipulated activating the unification of the minimum wage in the agricultural sector with the sectors of industry, commerce and liberal professions, since it is supposed to implement a 10 percent increase in the minimum wage for farmers, starting next month of September. while continuing the path of unification until 2028.
