The president of the Control and Anti-Corruption Authority, Mazen bin Ibrahim Al-Kahmous, valued the Saudi Cabinet’s approval of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom of Morocco to prevent and combat corruption.
The Saudi official said, in statements to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), that the approval of the Council of Ministers “comes in the context of the enthusiasm to combat cross-border corruption crimes in all its forms and manifestations, at the local and international levels. “.
He affirmed the authority’s effort to enhance its regional, Arab and international cooperation in the field of integrity protection and the fight against corruption, cooperating with regional and international agencies and organizations working in this field, and the Convention of the United Nations Against Corruption, which encourages states parties to consider entering into bilateral and multilateral agreements regarding direct cooperation between their law enforcement-related agencies.
He explained that the memorandum of understanding aims to “strengthen international cooperation in preventing and combating corruption, the exchange of experiences and information related to corruption crimes, the development and strengthening of capacities, and the exchange of information and experiences in terms of protecting integrity and combating corruption”. .”
