Prime Minister Aziz Akhannouch urged his ministers to accelerate the preparation of decrees and regulatory texts that allow the generalization of compulsory health insurance to current beneficiaries of the Ramid health care system before the end of 2022.
Akhannouch explained that these measures will allow holders of the Ramid system to improve their income and benefit from compulsory basic health insurance.
The State budget will bear the obligations of the current beneficiaries of the Ramid medical assistance system to be included in the National Social Security Fund.
Akhannouch’s call comes after he chaired, yesterday, Wednesday, August 31, 2022, a ministerial meeting on social protection workshops, in the presence of the Minister of the Interior, Abdelouafi Laftit, the Minister of Economy and Finance, Nadia Fattah, the Minister of Health. and Social Protection, Khaled Ait Taleb, and the Minister Delegate of the Minister of Economy and Finance in charge of the budget, Faouzi Lekjaa, in addition to the General Director of the National Social Security Fund, Hassan Boubrik, and the General Director of the National Fund Health Insurance, Khaled Lahlou.
The Akhannouch meeting also takes place in the framework of continuing to monitor the download of the social protection workshops and determine the progress of the download work, especially in the part related to the generalization of health coverage.
At the beginning of the meeting, Aziz Akhannouch recalled the steps that the government had taken since the beginning of its mandate in the framework of the implementation of the royal workshops to generalize social protection to all Moroccans.
The Prime Minister revealed that, to date, 22 implementing decrees have been issued, which opened the door to compulsory health insurance for non-salaried workers and those with rights associated with them.
