Abdelhak Benchikha, coach of Nahdet Berkane, confirmed that his team’s matchup with Wydad Sports in the African Super Cup is exceptional, noting that his squad is ready for the continental title.
Benchikha explained in the press conference that precedes the match, which will bring together the two Moroccan teams tomorrow Saturday night, that “this is a decisive match that differs from the championship matches and from all the interviews, and everything is content in it. It will be a special type of confrontation between two old teams from the same country”, underlining in this sense that “the survival of the cup in Morocco is something important”.
He added that this interview “is of great importance, and this shows the strength of the Moroccan championship. My team’s preparations were on level, and we know that Wydad and Wydad know us, and we’re ready to be on level.”
He added: “Wydad is an integrated team. Last season they rose to the occasion and won the African Champions League, and they take part in the continental competition every year, but Nahdet Berkane also entered the senior circle.
This is the second continental final played by the orange team, since they have never been crowned champions of the competition, since they lost the first final they played against Al-Ahly in 2021 with two clean goals.
It should be noted that the African Super Match between Wydad Sports and Renaissance Berkane will be hosted by the Prince Moulay Abdellah venue in Rabat, tomorrow, Saturday, starting at eight in the afternoon.
