US intelligence accuses Russia of sending $300 million to foreign political parties and candidates since 2014

US intelligence has accused Russia of secretly sending at least $300 million to foreign political parties and candidates in more than two dozen countries since 2014 to gain influence with them, according to a declassified intelligence report Tuesday.

A senior US official revealed that the United States “considers (the amount mentioned is only) a minimum estimate, and that Russia is likely to secretly transfer more funds that have not been allocated.”
