The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates visits Israel on the occasion of the second anniversary of the signing of the normalization of relations – today 24

On Wednesday, UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan arrived in Israel, where he will hold talks with Israeli officials on Thursday.

The visit comes on the second anniversary of the signing of the agreement to normalize relations between the United Arab Emirates and the Hebrew State.

“His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, arrived in Tel Aviv on an official visit to the State of Israel,” the official Emirates News Agency reported.

The UAE normalized its relations with Israel in 2020 as part of a series of agreements signed under US auspices between Arab countries and the Hebrew state.

These agreements were concluded under the auspices of former US President Donald Trump and constituted a departure from the Arab consensus, which is based on linking the establishment of relations with Israel to the search for a solution to the Palestinian question.

During his visit, the Emirati minister will discuss with “senior Israeli officials a number of files of common interest related to bilateral relations between the two countries and the prospects for Emirati-Israeli cooperation and partnership,” the agency said.

And on Wednesday night, the office of Israeli Prime Minister Yair Lapid, who also holds the Foreign Ministry, said in a statement that a series of meetings with the Emirati minister would take place on Thursday.
