Gas stations in Morocco raised fuel prices this weekend.
The price of gasoline jumped to 15.61 dirhams, while the price of gasoline reached 14.77 dirhams.
These are record prices since the series of increases began earlier this year.
Consequently, the price of gasoline increased by 1.60 dirhams per litre, while gasoline increased by 75 cents.
The Competition Council had accused fuel distributors in Morocco of nullifying price competition, not to mention doubling their profit margins.
According to data provided by the council chaired by Ahmed Rahho, the profit margins of distribution companies experienced strong increases during the years 2020 and 2021, exceeding the ceiling of one dirham per liter.
